Break Down the Barriers to Your 2016 Goals!

Welcome to 2016! I hope you had a good 2015, but in case you didn’t – in case you weren’t able to achieve the goals you set 12 months ago – then you’re in luck. I’m writing this article especially for you. I’m going to show you how to make your big goals a lot easier – and a lot more fun – to achieve this year.

The Secret: Choose One Big Goal and Break It Down

The key to achieving big goals is to simply break them down to smaller, simpler, ridiculously easier goals. Let’s say your goal is to cut your credit card debt by $3,000 by the end of the year.

What I’d do is I’d divide everything by 10. $3,000 divided by 10 is $300.

There are 52 weeks in a year. 52 divided by 10 is 5.2. Let’s say 5 weeks.

That’s your big goal broken down: Pay off $300 of your credit card debt in 5 weeks. Broken down further, that’s $60 a week, or $12 a day. Setting aside $12 a day sounds MUCH more doable than $3,000 at the end of the year, right?

That’s the secret! When you break them down, your goals become too easy to achieve.
Now take a look at your own goals – in health, wealth, and happiness – and break them all down.

1.) What are your goals for the year?

Health Goal: _________________________
Wealth Goal: _________________________
Happiness Goal: _______________________

2.) Divide them by 10. Your smaller, 5-week goals are now:

Health Goal: _________________________
Wealth Goal: _________________________
Happiness Goal: _______________________

Now let’s get started this very moment. Ask yourself: “What can I do TODAY… that I didn’t do YESTERDAY… that will make me better TOMORROW?
